San Francisco Gay Pride: In Photos

San Francisco knows how to throw a party. They fill the streets with every color and stripe. Young and old, nude and clothed, you're guaranteed to see something shocking and curious. We attended last weekend's Dyke March and Pride Parade along with thousands of others. The festivities kicked off on Saturday with a rally in Delores Park and a march through Noe Valley and the Castro. Men were sprinkled along the route cheering, along with families and store owners.

Sunday was the parade and festival. Thousands of people lined up to watch the parade, which runs for several hours and offers something for everyone. There were dykes on bikes, men on stilts, cheerleaders, leather daddies, pet lovers and bears in the ranks. We saw marriage equality signs and rainbow flags everywhere, reflecting the citywide support for the gay community. The post parade festival is free and offers booths, food, dancing and a decent band line up, which included punk sensation The Clicks.

Here are some images to recount the festivities.

Full of Pride
It's great to see US in all our glory.
Thanks, Jenn, for sharing with those of us
not able to be there.
