Who wouldn't want to play doctor with lesbian favorite and uber-chick magnet Kate Moennig? I'm in! But don't get too comfortable because unfortunately, Kate is officially playing it straight.
Sunday night at 9 p.m. CBS premiered Three Rivers, a medical drama starring the unabashed Shane from The L Word. The sex symbol played it straight, however difficult that was, in order to convince audiences that she was abandoning her perennial post as lesbian-lands most sought after seductress.
Moennig really used her acting chops in the first episode as she portrayed a heterosexual surgeon, which of course, will lead to lesbian tears everywhere when her character hooks up with a man and breaks hearts around the globe. A helpful hint: Just keep telling yourself it's all scripted. It's all scripted. It's all scripted.
Three Rivers focuses on the surgeons at a Pittsburgh-based hospital who are in charge of organ transplants and all the drama that goes with the stressful job. Moennig plays Dr. Miranda Foster, the ill-manner daughter of the preeminent surgeon who helped build up the organ transplant hospital.
The cast also includes: Alex O'Loughlin as Dr. Andy Yablonski, Daniel Henney as Dr. David Lee, Christopher J. Hanke as Ryan Abbott, Julia Ormond as Dr. Sophia Jordan, and Justina Machado as Pam Acosta.
Was the show any good? I would give it a C+ as the typical medical drama starring a more-than-typical hot bitch. |
