GLBT History Month Features Icons Throughout October

It's GLBT History Month and for the fourth year, the Equality Forum is spotlighting 31 men and women who have had an impact on the GLBT community. Each day in October, a GLBT icon is featured on the GLBT History Month website with a video, bio, bibliography, downloadable images and other resources - all provided for free. The 93 Icons from 2006, 2007 and 2008 also are archived on the site.

So far this year the Web site has received more than 1.7 million hits and more than 375,000 page views. What started in 2006 with 20 nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and for-profit corporations linking to the site, has grown to some 600 organizations this year

The 31 Icon videos can be embedded without charge on Web sites or blogs. Once embedded, the video player will automatically update the daily Icon video. Icon videos are offered without charge to educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, for-profit companies and the public.

Equality Forum is a national and international GLBT civil rights organization with an educational focus.  Equality Forum coordinates GLBT History Month, produces documentary films, undertakes high impact initiatives and presents annually the largest national and international GLBT civil rights forum.
