Lindsay Lohan's Family To Stage Drug Abuse Intervention

The Lohan clan is planning to stage an intervention for the troubled young starlet, according to the New York Daily News.

Papa Michael Lohan revealed that he is concerned his daughter is addicted to prescription drugs. Her mother, Dina, is also worried that the star's life is spiraling out of control.

Both parents have discussed getting Lindsay the professional help she needs to overcome her addiction and get her life back on track. Sam Ronson's on and off again girlfriend, however, isn't taking the bait...yet. 

Michael told RadarOnline: "I had a conversation with her, her mother and everyone. Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to be doing things in a pretty public way.

"But Dina has got to get on the same page with me. It's a serious situation. You can't just talk about it and tell me that you want to do an intervention and then do nothing."

After completing three stints in rehab, reports have continued to surface that the Mean Girls actress is still abusing medications and mixes pills together, forming a lethal cocktail.  

According to a source, among some of those pills are Attention Deficit Disorder medication Adderall, anti-depressant Zoloft and pills to treat anxiety and bi-polar disorder.

Papa Lohan says he has been forced to speak out overtly about his 23-year-old daughter's substance abuse problem in order to get her attention.

He explained to RadarOnline: "When Lindsay doesn't adhere or listen to what I say about serious situations, I feel I have to speak publicly to put pressure on her. If she doesn't take my advice and do what I say & the more pressure I put on her, the more likely she is to eventually do the right thing."

Meanwhile, sources say that Lindsay is close to having a real mental breakdown.
