Rumer Willis is guest starring on 90210 and will see her character embark on a lesbian relationship, according to the Examiner.
In January, the CW will embark on a major same-sex storyline that will pair the show's token lesbian, Gia, played by Willis, with another principal character Jessica Lowndes, who plays the teenage mother Adrianna.
The 21-year-old daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis plays the school news broadcast geek. After dealing with a drug addiction, a trip to rehab and a pregnancy in season one, Adrianna, who has played it "straight" so far, will be turning over a new leaf.
Apparently this is no publicity stunt for ratings. The show's executive producer Rebecca Sinclair said, "This isn't a fling. We're coming at this relationship from a genuine place and not going, 'Let's do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.'
"This is a real aspect of teenager life that's interesting. And there's been a real void in the 90210 universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters."
Lowndes admits she is nervous about filming the love scenes, admitting, "I've never kissed a girl before so it's a little nerve-racking."
