I Can't Think Straight

Recently, while in London, I watched the 8 award-winning film "I Can't Think Straight". It is a FANTASTIC, MUST OWN FILM. The filmmaker, Shamim Sarif, has the amazing gift to simultaneously be an exceptional movie director, screenwriter, and novelist; a talent rarely found. In "I Can't Think Straight" Shamim Sarif has, with integrity, exposed the soft underbelly of two ancient traditions and cultures (Indian and Palestinian); yet, accompanied with hilarity, political punches, mesmeric songs, portrayal of tender love between two young women, and all paced at a tempo that makes the audience want more. Shamim Sarif's direction of Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth is par excellence, and their acting brilliant. The Soundtrack with compositions by Raiomond Mizra and songs by Nadine Khouri and Leonie Casanovais incredible! It is disappointing that "I Can’t Think Straight" has been censored in India.

Shamim Sarif lives in London with her life-partner, Hanan Kattan, and they have jointly established Enlightenment Productions Ltd.. Hanan Kattan is also the Producer of "I Can't Think Straight".

I wish Shamim Sarif and Hanan Kattan the best of everything and hope to watch their other film, "The World Unseen", very soon.

Both movies are simply moving. I think they might be two of my favorites of all time. Grab a glass of wine, kick up your heels, and enjoy the beautiful story of two women in love.

I love this movie!! I wish Lisa Ray would do action films ala Angelina Jolie on her breakout role in Tomb Raider as Lara Croft. I want to see her in a movie where she portrays a lead female character who is strong, independent, intelligent, hot, deadly and dangerous. I hope she gets better, I love her. Keep fighting Lisa!
