Yoga fans?

I took up yoga awhile ago and I absolutely love it! The full exercise of body, mind and spirit has hooked me like nothing else ever has. I especially love inverted positions...so fun. Any other yogis out there? What do you love about?

Hello,
Congratulations on taking up Yoga, it is nice to hear you are enjoying it. I like how it relaxes the mind and body. Plus I get to wear some cute little yoga outfits. I just wish I could learn to more flexible in order to help with some of the more difficult moves. Anyway good luck and happy exercising.

Hey yoga fans - looks like this thread has died but I'd love to revive it!

Do they have corepoweryoga in your cities/states - if so, you should check that sh*t out - I have been taking classes there for a couple years and I think it's such a fun way to get your yoga AND your workout in.

What other kinds of yoga do you guys practice? I also have practiced ashtanga vinyasa, bikram and anusara over the years ...

As far as type, I probably do more ashtanga, but I tend to make my own free form out of the poses I like and that I can feel really work. The Quad Cities (eastern IA/western IL at the Mississippi) has a few yoga places, but they're all pretty much the same standard class. We DID just pick up a hot yoga class though that I've been dying to try Very Happy

I do yoga at a couple local Y's....it gives me the opportunity to try out different disciplines and teachers - without studio costs - it is well worth it.
My favorite is a teacher who is from the Kripalu tradition, but I also have Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha and Anusara teachers. I hope one day to teach too. I've only been practicing for less than a year, but the benefits both physically and mentally are amazing.
