In "I Can't Think Straight" Shamim Sarif has, with integrity, exposed the soft underbelly of two ancient traditions and cultures (Indian and Palestinian); yet, accompanied with hilarity, political punches, mesmeric songs,portrayal of tender love between two young women, and all paced at a tempo that makes the audience want more. Shamim Sarif's direction of Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth is par excellence, and their acting brilliant. People that you date and you think are "the one" up until...well, the moment the moment you are no longer dating and you are left there wondering--where/when did it all go wrong? BUTTTTTT, I was annoyed by one thing: the UNNECESSAREY references by two characters (the lead guy and his work buddy) where they negatively refer to somethings as being "gay" and "so gay". Which I remember hearing and thinking "why do they have to use THAT word?"
