I ran across a website that is posting well wishes for Caster Semenya. Unfortunately, I've read from more than one source that's she's on suicide watch now...
It was nice to read well wishes and write something. I just heard about it and there aren't that many people so far...I'd like to think that she might read these and know that there are people sending her love.
Here's the URL if interested: www.semenya.net

RE: Tennis

I positively loathe the WTA. I used to be a HUGE WTA fan, particularly of Sabatini, but it's turned into such a joke now, and I can't root for it anymore. They make no bones about trying to sell their alleged "sex appeal" rather than any athletic prowess. I can't stand the way most of them play these days--just dreadful. This sport needs some americans in it. I'm not american myself but I know it desperately needs someone like Capriati in it. Successful, athletic girls from somewhere other than eastern europe. Here's some video of how tennis should be played with a particularly spectacular point at 3:48.

ABC renews new-look "Scrubs" for ninth season

ABC on Friday renewed veteran medical comedy "Scrubs 1-7 " for a ninth season.

Star Zach Braff is set to come back for six episodes to transition the show to its new set-up showcasing a mix of original cast members and some of the interns introduced this past season, its first on ABC after a seven-year run on NBC.

It is understood that Sarah Chalke has been approached with a similar deal, but it's not clear if she will be rejoining the series. (Chalke has a recurring role on another comedy, CBS' "How I Met Your Mother.")

Donald Faison, John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn have all closed deals to continue as regulars if their pilots are not picked up. Faison and Flynn co-star in hot ABC pilots, "The Law," which is already unofficially staffing, and "The Middle," respectively. McGinley is on CBS' drama pilot "Back."

Meanwhile, Judy Reyes has not been approached for a deal but may appear as a guest star.

I don't mine the outfits, since some of the girls are really good looking, it's their business what they like, or have to wear. If the court fashion wouldn't change, they would still play in petticoats under their looong skirts.

But I prefer modest, mostly white outfits.

Where's the finesse in the game? ...it takes skill and is a heck of a lot more interesting to watch. The chicks back in the day (lol, okay only a few years back)...now they had more going on than just rocketing the ball at each other.

As for outfits....that's awesome lol... I do NOT know whether they are dressed for the bar or a match sometimes! Right now in Miami, you'd think it's Hollywood.

Indeed shewiredcouchcoach.....Sports superstars, movie/music celebrities, high profile politicians, or just people that are filthy rich seem to get a slap on the hand for a ton of offenses that the average joe or jane with meager finances might get serious jail time. For Vick even though he is rich (not anymore though or at least that's what he says) I seriously think that because he is Black that too had a lot to do with his punishment.

That documentary sounds very interesting...
I agree that he has served his time and indeed should get a second chance. It's hard, though, as an animal lover, to wish him a great career after what he did. The NFL and other male sports is full of guys breaking the law and/or having violent tendencies. Be it steroids, fame,or just plain "assh*le factor" I can't help thinking that aggression and violence is a widespread problem on many levels and that Vick just got super attention because it was animals. The news is full of guys with charges being brought against them, and unfortunately a slap on the hand fine makes everything OK because they are sports superstars.

RE: Yes, Vick deserves a 2nd chance

Once he has served his time, yeah give him another shot in the NFL. I have 3 dogs, 1 of the dogs is a American Pit Bull, what he did was wrong on so many levels.

I was watching a documentary on HBO called "Dealing Dogs":
Class B dealers operate under the jurisdiction of the Department of Agriculture and are required by law to treat animals humanely. They are also required to purchase animals only when sellers have all appropriate documentation. Apparently, some dealers ignore these requirements while also purchasing animals that may be strays or may have been stolen directly from owners' yards.

Four years in the making, DEALING DOGS follows the undercover investigation of Martin Creek Kennel by the animal rights group Last Chance for Animals. A young man who goes by the name of "Pete" in the film wore a hidden camera while he worked a low- level job hosing kennels at the dog dealer. Over the course of six months, Pete secretly filmed activities at Martin Creek Kennel, including the beating and shooting of dogs, and recorded footage of animals that were left to languish in their kennels and suffered from malnourishment, life-threatening disease and injury, among other abuses. Dog corpses are shown piled up on the property and in trenches after being butchered for their organs.

C.C. Baird and his family owned and operated Martin Creek Kennel, one of the largest Class B dealers in the United States, until Last Chance provided the results of their undercover investigation to federal authorities, who closed the facility in 2005

CC Baird was sentenced however he only received probation, lost his land & paid restitution. What this man did was far more massive than what Vick did however Vick is in jail.

Sorry for this being long as hell (no cliff notes)....
